Dear S.T.A.R.S. Parents,
We are excited to announce the launch of our second school STARS Global Preparatory (“STARS Global”) right here on our current campus. The construction for STARS Global’s new building will take place in our current field adjacent to the building. With that said, the project is taking longer than expected to begin; therefore, we will start an expansion project to accommodate STARS Global Preparatory February 1.
We are excited to make the necessary adjustments to our building to house our sister school, STARS Global Preparatory. The school will serve students from S.T.A.R.S. Autism once an educational referral is made from the educational team to transfer the student to STARS Global. In the meantime, S.T.A.R.S. Autism will continue to operate as-is. STARS Global will mainly serve neuro-typical developing students from grades PreK-8th grade.
The vision for STARS Global Preparatory is to prepare all graduates academically and personally to lead and serve with people from different backgrounds and learning styles. As well as to prepare students to become active, global citizens committed to a life of community engagement and democratic participation through an academically rigorous culture of service. STARS Global will provide students with the academic, social, and emotional foundations and skills necessary to become high achieving, socially competent stewards of their communities.
At STARS Global, we are serious about helping young scholars change the world. Our vision is to unleash the creative and intellectual potential of young people to help solve the world’s toughest problems. We recognize the need to develop creators, thinkers, and innovators in the next generation of learners and put real-world issues at the center of our curriculum. We are making a radical paradigm shift from preparing learners for a career ten years from now to making a difference in the world, right here, right now.
At STARS Global, we will incorporate all of the methodologies aligned with experiential education to varying degrees and have selected service-learning as the centerpiece of our instructional practice. One of the service learning’s most significant benefit is that it is a flexible approach that can be adapted to fit a variety of age levels, learning settings, curricular needs, and time frames, and it allows students to co-create their learning experiences. Enrollment for STARS Global will begin February 1. Please login to our website for more information as it pertains to open house dates and scholarship information.
